12 Days to go....

It has really begun to sink in that by this time two weeks from now, sixteen individuals will be in Aploa, Peru bringing the hope of the gospel to the local Peruvians.Today we made some financial decisions and organized much of our funds. It is overwhelming to see how faithfully God has provided for all of us on our team. We are extremely thankful for your prayers. We are all excited about the shirts (pictured) being designed, finished and on their way to the school to arrive within the next few days.

We discussed some of the ways we hope to use our gifts and talents through music, arts, drama and spoken word. It's overwhelming how God has blessed the team with individuals that desire to use many of their talents. It's a privilege for all of us that God would allow such an opportunity for any of us to use our gifts and talents. Pray that as a unified body, we would be able to serve together for the kingdom of the Lord. We desire to see the very power of the gospel penetrate the hearts of those we meet in Peru and have no idea what to expect.

Thank you so much for you commitment to prayer. This trip would not be possible without you! Until our next post...God be with you!

"continue in the faith, stable and steadfast, not shifting from the hope of the gospel that you heard, which has been proclaimed in all creation under heaven."--Col. 1:23

19 Days to go....

It's becoming more and more realistic that Peru is less than three weeks away. Many of the details are falling into place.
As we met together as a group this week, we began to discuss different opportunitys that we, both as a group and individually, will have to advance the gosepl and serve the kingdom of God in Peru. We desire deeply to see the Spirit work amongst the people and ourselves.
Please pray that God would open doors wihin Peru for each of us to be able to us our god given talents and gifts. We have Music, Pastoral, Education and Counseling majors who desire to use their traning and studies in Peru. We all desire to use them to better serve the kingodom of God and be a blessing and testimony to the people of Peru. We even have some students from our drama club, Imitators, traveling with us. We hope to be able to use thier talents as gifts as well.
Continue to pray for our financial needs and burdens because, with less than 3 weeks, we don't have much time left. We trust that God will be faithful to supply all of our needs (physically and financially).
As the day of our departure approaches (May 10th) we wait with excited anticipation of what the Lord has in store for all of us. We are beyond thanks for you prayers! Until next time...be strong in the grace of Christ Jesus.

"The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ and the love of God and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you all."--2 Cor. 13:14

27 Days to go...

It's hard to believe that we have less than four weeks before Peru! We are all extremely thankful for you ongoing prayers, as we have seen God at work in all of our hearts and we are beginning to get VERY excited for our trip!

Today we had the opportunity to meet with Jimmy, one of the representatives who works with REAP South, that will be traveling with us, and began discussing some of the work that we will be doing as a team in Peru. Some of the work we will be doing includes being able to go into the public schools and share the gospel with the students.
Pray that the Word of God, which is sharper than any two-edged sword (Heb. 4:12), would be able to pierce their heart. Peru is largely Catholic and they do hold the Scriptures in high esteem, with much authority. However, many of them have NEVER "read" the Scripture and only "learned" their beliefs from the the local priests. They have no idea about what the Scriptures teach of Christ, they pray and confess to the saints and they hold Mary in high regard.
We have also begun to organize some of our travel plans (driving to the airport, returning, etc.). There are lots of small details and many questions that need to be answered before we go. Please pray for wisdom and discernment regarding answers to these details and questions. Many of the small details, may seem insignificant, however in the long run...they play a VITAL role in the planning process. (I speak this from a well learned lesson having been to Peru last year.)

May the grace of God be with you and may you see His glory revealed to you. God Bless!!
"To the King of ages, immortal, invisible, the only God, be honor and glory forever and ever."--1 Tim.1:17

33 Days To Go...

It's hard to believe that in just over 4 weeks we will all be on a plane headed to Peru. With a short time to go, we are continuing to raise funds for our trip. Thanks to all of you who are praying and have made a generous financial donation. We have begun as well to discuss some shirt options that the team will wear for a portion of our trip.

If you could continue to pray for us as we continue to meet weekly for the next month to receive training, instruction and information to better prepare for our trip and catch the vision of the organization, REAP (Rapid Entry Advancement Plan) South has for reaching the people of Peru.

Pray also for those of us who don't know Spanish fluently as we will be meeting with our fellow brothers and sisters in Christ to receive some quick Spanish training. As well as some of the team members who are looking to promote some fund raising options (car wash, bakes sales, etc.). Pray that they would be able to see God faithfully provide bountiful blessings through these activities.

Until our next post...Gods peace, grace, love and encouragement be with you all.

"Now to Him who is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, according to the power at work within us, to Him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever. Amen"--Ephesians 3:20-21

Up and Running!

Hello to all of you who will be following this blog during the course of our trip! As you can see, there's not much happening yet. However, as we continue to meet at Trinity College and prepare for the trip, I will be sure to post any important news and updates. Of course, once the trip begins, you can be sure to find daily updates of what God will be doing with 16 individuals in Peru.
Looking forward to sharing with all of you who will be following the blog.
God bless!
